I'm serious, here.
My yorkie terrier is suddenly just....ill.
Scares me even more she mostly just lays there, breathing heavily.
Plus, since it's sunday, the vets are closed, and the closest one is in memphis, which will be a 2 hour drive.
By the time we get there, the dog will be dead.
So yeah, screw my life.

Honestly, why do vets close? What the fuck is the point of having a vet if your dog is mentally ill on it's closing day?

Though we got to call 2 vets, and now we're waiting for a response.

Plus, i'm too young to drive, and i even forced my mother to take them to the vet yesterday, when vets were open.

The bitch just didn't do it for some parent reason.

EDIT: Plus, the vets are closed on saturday, oh happy joy joy.

Though one of my dogs who was also sick yesterday felt like crap yesterday, today she seems better.

Pray to god these dogs live.

I could be a dick here and say my real opinions flat out, but I doubt a sadist's opinions would help in this situation.

Anyway, are you certain it's something severe/possibly fatal? It could end up just being a minor ailment. Especially considering what you said about one of them seeming better after a day.

On a more serious note,If hospitals don't close, then neither should vets.

Take it to a PokeCenter!

Seriously though, that's rough. Sorry to hear it. Death is a hard thing to accept, but when someone is ill, sometimes it's easier on them if it just ends. No one hurts after they die.

I wish my two were left...One had cancer and the other suffered a massive stroke. You could see the blood through his eyes...it was terrible.
But, memories are your most cherished possesion. Carry that with you in life.

I agree with the above comment that dogs, and truly all pets are part of the family. As for your dog being sick, the symptoms you described mirror almost exactly a dog that I watched for a while when her owners were away. She had had cancer earlier in life, and a new tumor was present, but the family hadn't even tested it to see if it was malignant because they wouldn't have the money for the surgery and chemo regardless. This dog has been alive for...4...5 years since then, and actually seems to be better. Another good example of things being not always as bad as they seem is one of my own dogs. He has an inoperable massive benign tumor on his spleen that's pushing against his stomach meaning he doesn't want to eat. We have him on steroids so he'll eat (hunger outweighs feeling of pressure on the stomach) and we know that the tumor could burst any day (we've lost two other dogs the same way). We knew about this problem back in June, and he's still alive. He's an older dog, so he's having trouble getting up stairs and such, but he's still alive and happy.

In short, just because your dog is ill doesn't mean it's on its deathbed. Everyone gets sick...I've had illnesses where I did nothing but lie around and breath heavily...I'm still here. I can definitely understand your worry and your fear of losing your dog...I've had too many losses...both human and animal...for my age...however, jumping to conclusions is not the way to go...relax and get your dog to the vet as soon as it's open again. Go with what they tell you...they'll have the most accurate information available.
