Netflix continues to consume the entirety of the internet, climbing to the number one spot of an entire continent, with a whopping 30% slice of peak downstream traffic. That's almost a third! What's in second place? Oh, you know, "websites."

Yes, pathetic little HTTP downloads account for a trifling 18% of peak North American internet traffic now. It's not exactly a fair fight, as streaming (particularly HD streaming) takes up far, far more bandwidth than, say, checking Facebook. But still—Netflix's traffic maw will only get wider as more people ditch discs, the library expands, and we're able to lie in bed streaming old episodes of 30 Rock from eight different devices at once. Wow, I always thought YouTube uses most of the bandwidth. Congrats to Netflix for having so many people who are willing to pay for their video on demand streaming service.

Netflix is definitely worth it. It's amazing.

I live in Canada, and I read online Canada's version of NetFlix has fewer shows and movie vs the American version, so I'll be waiting for more shows to come to NetFlix Canada till I consider subscribing.

Yeah, it irks me at times due to it not having what I was planning on watching on instant-watch. It would be a good idea to wait.
