I did see the first one from when I used to have Netflix, and the writing was interesting but with the same overarching plot as the games, I think.

Nope it's a couple generations down the tree. so no it's not Sypha. It's Julia Belmont, mc Richter's Mom.
 
Action scenes are great and story is pretty good. But they changed Annette's character design a lot dang I prefer her original character design.

Everything, her hair, her face, her race, her outfit, her PLOT lol. But her new characterization is good story wise, it's just too bad with her character design. Though I am fine with her race change design, but not the rest, character design wise.
