The company’s CEO Fred Chesnais has now confirmed that the company is building its first new home console in three decades. The CEO also revealed that this product has been “years in the making,” and that it’s going to have woodgrain paneling much like the Atari machines of years past.

Chesnais also mentioned that the hardware is going to be PC-based and that the design isn’t final as yet. He didn’t provide any further details about the console.

I bet, this new Atari console would be similar to other mini Windows Gaming PCs and the Steam Machine where you can use a gamepad to play games from Steam, GOG, Humble Bundle, and other digital PC game stores.

Hopefully, this console is affordable unlike other gaming PCs and consoles like the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X which are expensive because they can cost thousands of dollars, or many hundreds of dollars like the Xbox One X.

Blimey, a new Atari... well, if that isn't a blast from the past. Personally though, I went from the Commodore 64, to Windows, to Sega and Nintendo consoles, bypassing Atari's stuff altogether.

Not too sure on the name, though. Seriously, AtariBox?

Now all we need is a Sega Dreamcast II, or something, heh.
