Shortly after dropping the reveal trailer, Nintendo broke down exactly what the OLED Model offers. Not only that, but it also confirmed which colors will be available when it launches on October 8th. The first is, unsurprisingly, the classic neon red/neon blue colors that the original Switch has, with the left Joy-Con colored red and the right one blue.

The second one, which has predominately been shown in the marketing so far, is a simple, pure white.

Described as the newest member of the Nintendo Switch family, this is a 7-inch handheld with an OLED screen, boasting an improved kickstand, better audio, a wired LAN port in the dock, 64GB internal storage. The console will launch on October 8, the same day as Metroid Dread, and will cost $349.99 USD.

You can compare the specs here: Technical Specs - Nintendo Switch™ - System hardware, console specs - Nintendo - Official Site however, this new console won't be running anything stronger and will not support 4k.

Unless my Switch decides to crap out between now and October 8th, I don't really have any plans on getting this. If you're planning on playing primarily handheld and you don't have a Switch, it's a good investment. Though, I usually play mine on the tv anyway.

The white one with the joycon holder gives me Metroid Dread vibes though. Like the robot things that chase you.

If they had said this fixes the drift issue, I would have grabbed it. I already got an adapter to wire my Switch, so this upgrade is useless to me.

I doubt that drift issue will ever get fixed since it still seems to be a problem with the other main consoles as well. I guess the upgrade is worth it if you don't currently have a Switch. Otherwise, it's not really worth it.

Nintendo new Switch model looks good for people who don't already have a Switch. I like the new touchscreen.

Just means the industry needs to look into what is messing up.

the $349.99 USD price tag though with another 50 bucks you can get the PS5 digital edition.

I'm with Dark Young Link, I don't think I'll be getting one of these unless my current Switch decides to crap out on me.

Definitely. But I guess it means more people buying new controllers so it's an issue that they don't care about fixing. Not sure people are willing to boycott consoles over it

disc version or a waste of money!

I agree, the version of the PS5 without a disc drive is not worth getting since the discless version can't play discs games which are better for people with unreliable internet, buy used games, or want to re-sell their used disc games someday.

Definitely agree with you on that. Especially with the PlayStation Store having quite high prices compared to retail stores with the disc versions, the discless PS5 is just not worth it for me even with the lower price
