Atari, one of the world's most recognized video game publishers, announced today that a new patch is available for the smash hit Ghostbusters: The Video Game on PLAYSTATION 3. The highly anticipated title, which was released on June, 16, 2009 and sold over 1 million units in its first month, contains a number of fixes for both single and multiplayer modes, making the slime shooting, ghost busting experience even more thrilling.

Both single and multiplayer modes have been updated. In single player mode, fixes include an increase in resolution to match that of Xbox360 and some freeze issues, along with numerous other localization fixes. Several audio/subtitle mismatches have been patched up as well. The multiplayer patches fix certain maps when both SCEA and SCEE players attempt to play with each other, and the Pay Day Trophy and Capture All Most Wanted Ghosts Trophy now unlock properly.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game, based on the hit motion picture franchise, is penned by original Ghostbusters writers and stars Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd and reunites many of the original cast members to recapture the unique blend of humour and fright that established Ghostbusters as a pop culture sensation. In collaboration with Sony Pictures Consumer Products and acclaimed development studios Terminal Reality and RedFly, Atari published this completely all-new chapter of the blockbuster Ghostbusters saga to advanced gaming platforms to coincide with the 25th Anniversary celebration of the film's original theatrical release.

The patch is available as an automatic update for consoles connected to the internet. For more information about Ghostbusters: The Video Game and its expansion packs, please visit www.ghostbustersgame.com.
