A new action RPG based on the cult-classic Samurai Pizza Cats anime has just been announced. For those too young to remember, Samurai Pizza Cats was an English localized version of Kyatto Ninden Teyandee (Cat Ninja Legend Teyandee) that was dubbed and produced by Saban Entertainment, the same company that would go on to make Power Rangers, the English dub of the first three Digimon anime seasons, and many other popular shows of the 90s and early 2000s.
Developer BLAST ZERO and publisher Red Dunes Games have announced Samurai Pizza Cats: Blast from the Past, a 2D action RPG that will reportedly launch sometime in 2026. This news was heralded by an animated trailer in which the Big Cheese fumes about not being a playable character before plotting to “bribe the animators” and destroy the Pizza Cats once and for all.
