Sony announced today plans to release PlayStation 3 consoles in a new "classic white" color with an increase in hard drive space later this month in Japan.
There will be two separate models, a 160GB and 320GB version, replacing the older 120GB and 250GB units. Both will be available in black and white. The 160GB unit will retail for 29,980 yen ($350), the same price as the current 120GB unit. The 320GB model will cost 34,980 yen ($400).
The new models will go on sale in Japan starting July 29. It's unclear as of now if these models will come to North America and PAL regions. We've pinged SCEA for details and will update this story when we hear back.

Update: A Sony spokesperson offered this comment regarding a North American release:
"We will consider every possibility based on the market demands, but have nothing to announce at this point in time."
