Barnes & Noble, which really hasn't seen the tablet exposure enjoyed by rivals Amazon, Apple and Google, may have its own ace up its sleeve. There's indication that the Nook Tablet sequel may be powered by Windows 8, as the book retailer has been working closely with Microsoft, according to sources. Prior models have focused on the ease of use as an e-reader – this one may focus on tablet features like multimedia, gaming and whatnot, more so than before.

Cool, I wonder would the Nook cost 199 like the Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7 inch and Google Nexus 7. I'm also guessing Barnes and Noble choose Windows 8 because Microsoft is one of Barnes and Noble partners by investing a lot of money in B&N.
I like the idea of running full Windows based programs on the go with the Nook Tablet instead of taking out a laptop, opening the lid, pressing the power button, and waiting a few seconds or minutes for Windows to boot just to use MSN, MS Paint, Skype, Firefox Winamp, and other MS compatible programs.
I hope the Barnes and Noble Tablet with Windows 8 also support keyboard and mouse since it would make typing on a tablet a lot faster.
I wonder would older versions of the Nook Tablet also be switch to Windows 8.
