At the Microsoft conference today, Nike announced that Nike Plus is headed to Xbox 360. Kinect will allow players to receive instant feedback and use the training methods recommended by Nike as they train.

Players can be reminded by phone when they’re due for a workout. Every 4 weeks players will receive a workout update. There is also Xbox Live integration.

I cannot wait to buy this! Clearly, this is what NIke has been building towards from the beginning of their Nike+ project. I was never able to take advantage of it because everything was through Apple, but this is fantastic. What I saw today looks like a combination of the intensity of UFC Trainer with the strict discipline of Your Shape Fitness Evolved.

The release date is also perfect as you can start your new year with NIke+. The whole project looks genius.

Just wondering do you reccomend UFC Trainer? My family are UFC fans and I saw this title instore and was curious. Although there are so many exercise games for consoles these days that I don't know what's good or what's just a gimic.

I must admit this Nike+ evolution is exciting. I've been using Nike+ as a runner for a few years now. Sadly though I'm a PlayStation girl and don't have an Xbox. It'll be interesting to follow this games progress anyhow. The integration between exercise and gaming is amazing. Finally exercising is fun! I'm competitive and having the goals and feedback would be a huge motivation.

I don't know if I'd suggest UFC Trainer for the PS3 as I don't think the tracking would be as precise. With what I understand of the Wii and Move, the sensor is looking for a light versus a body part. However, if you can committ to yourself to not cheat the game, then yes, I would recommend UFC. It's really well put together and the moves that they have you doing will work up a sweat and cause a change in your body.

A lot of the moves are body weight movements, but you also have an opportunity to work with and track the amount of weight that you choose to use. Or you can also use bands for resistance. I like both UFC and Your Shape for different reasons, but I do think that the Nike+ one has the chance to beat them both. They were able to sit back and see what they did well and exceeed it.

I do! All the people that downloaded and play Fruit Ninja do! The people that made the even more wise choice of buying The Gunstringer to get two games instead of one, use their Kinect. Just because you refuse to enjoy that part of your XBox doesn't mean others have. More people will continue to use, resume use and go out to buy a Kinect this year.

EA and Ubisoft are ahead of the curve with slowly integrating Kinect into their games. They don't see it as a gimmick, they see it as a way to really enhance their games. How can any hardcore sports fan say they want Madden and Fifa to be as close to the game as possible, turn their nose up at the Kinect ready aspects of the game? People talk in those sports. They make audibles and in this year's iterations, the players will have the chance to do so.

Kinect is a great addition to the XBox and its games.

Too many options dealing with working out. You have all this stuff on phones, stuff on systems and regular exercise things. It may do pretty good because fitness will always be a big industry. Nike is established too well anyway so I know they will find a way to promote this right.

No, at least not for the people who are serious about working out. Any and every metric that a person can have, the better. The more ways that you have to access your data, the easier it is when asking others for help and suggestions. The whole thing was a bit of a blur, but the stuff they had on the screen to track didn't look like anything out of the ordinary.

I'm not going to lie, this is going to be an amazing addition to the XBOX Kinect. I've had Nike + as an application on my iPhone for quite some time now and couldn't live without it. I've became quite accustomed to it. Now I'll use it even more since it will be integrated with my XBOX 360!

Thank you! Somebody else that sees the potential greatness! I've wanted to use Nike+, but I didn't have a iPhone or iPod to use it with, so for them to open it up to what seems like every OS, will be great for me. If by chance, they don't open it up to Android, I'll be okay, because it will still have some connection to something online and on Nike's website.

They are really no different from workout DVDs. Yes, they do add achievements to the games, because that's almost a requirement for most games, right? I think so.

But, anyway, if they are well put together, they are better than even the P90x and Jane Fondas in the sense that the Kinect or Eye can tell you if your form is proper, if your pace is good enough, etc. Not everyone feels comfortable exercising outside, but if you can exercise at all, then that is a good thing. More than motivation, they give opportunity for everyone to exercise.

For some, it will be a starting point, for some it's just an add on to what they already do, but unless a person has actually given one of the games at least 30 days to try it and see what it can do, they sound silly dismissing it off hand.

Thanks, i guess i will give one of those a try and see how they help with the workout.

This seems like a pretty good idea. I doubt I'll use it but I know plenty of people will.

Okay, how many people still actually use their Kinect?
Heh. About that...
I got my Xbox360 and it happened to be the one that came with a Kinect...
I've never used it though.. Ever. It's still in the box, I think.
I doubt I'll ever use my Kinect. I've never liked it (tried it once or twice at a friends before I got mine).

I love the kinects technology and the nike thing sound good in theory, but when are they going to make some real games for kinects?

Almost every game that has been released for the kinects has been for the casual market. Where are the games for the hardcore player? The only thing that I have seen that is remotely good is the voice commands for mass effect 4 and skyrim.

This "game" and I use the term loosely is a good idea. All these exercise games are targeting people who are overweight. I just don't see many people using the Kinect as much as a regular game. Most people hate to exercise and this game isn't any different. Nike is finding a way to promote their product that's all there is to it. I used the Kinect before and I didn't like it because it feels so odd. Maybe some people might find this game entertaining, but I won't be one of those people.
