Nintendo showed off a lot of info today about upcoming indie video games for the Switch. You can watch the video above or check out the list below:

  • Garage, a gritty top-down shooter with VHS-inspired graphics, from Tiny Build
  • Lumines Remastered, a port of the beloved musical falling-block game
  • Reigns King & Queens, a combo pack of both mobile Reigns games that are all about swiping through branching stories.
  • Light Fall, a tough-looking 2D platformer that lets you place a magical box mid-jump.
  • West of Loathing, a comedic stick figure RPG
  • Pode, a co-op exploration game from Henchman & Goon.
  • Just Shapes And Beats, a musical bullet hell game from Berzerk Studio
  • Fantasy Strike, which is designed to be a more inviting 2D fighting game for genre newcomers
  • Bomb Chicken, a platformer featuring a chicken that lays bombs
  • The Messenger, a 2D game that alternates from 8- to 16-bit.
  • Bad North, a rogue-lite, real-time strategy game starring Vikings.
  • Banner Saga 3, the finale of the acclaimed RPG series. The first two Banner Sagas are also coming to Switch, release dates unknown
  • Mark of the Ninja Remastered
  • Pool Panic, a game from Rekim and Adult Swim
 
I'd be lying if I said nothing caught my attention. Like, Fantasy Strike looks like a pretty cool fighting game and Just Shapes And Beats sounds like an interesting concept. The Messenger also has an interesting concept as well. Actually, it kind of reminds me of Ninja Gaiden.

Also, I know video games aren't easy to make and they're expensive, and I know I've spoken about how a lot of indie games look retro because it's easy to work with and that works with some games. But there is a video game coming out in 2018 that is just stick figures and I don't know how I feel about that. It seems lazy and would probably have caught my attention if it was in beautiful 16 bit graphics like Owlboy. I'm not saying graphics are everything, because it's not, but I just find it a little silly that it's stick figures.

I don't want to end on a negative note, so I will say Pool Panic looks like a good comedy game, but it's also Adult Swim so it makes sense. Oh, and Light Fall looks like it would be a fun platforming challenge. As someone who loves platformers, I might actually pick this one up when it comes out.
 
That's true, I can't give them flack for that. It just... feels more at home on a free flash game that spending actual real money to play it on a console.

Nintendo is sure to host another, so set a goal of shooting for that one and I do believe you can do it :)

Just an example, I honestly have no idea when they usually present it.
But even if I wait 6 months instead, it would still be unrealistic for a 1 person team to have a playable demo of a game this fast.

Well, I made games even in 48 hours before, but these were of far smaller scale and only really meant for competition.

depends on how much you have done and how much you put in each day.
