If you're sick and tired of charging your New 3DS XL horizontally, then you'll be thrilled to learn that the charging cradle is now for sale in the US.
You can purchase the charging cradle right now, directly from Nintendo. Your New 3DS XL can charge vertically, as intended, rather than exposing the entirety of its top to potential collection of dust in a sub-optimal horizontal configuration.
This will free owners from needing to import a 3DS XL charging cradle from Japan, as was previously necessary to get a taste of that sweet up-and-down charging action.
At the bottom of the page on the Nintendo Store for the cradle, you will see the device will set you back a paltry $9, but the AC adapter is still not included.
If you don't have an AC adapter yet, we did put together a list of options for you to charge your New 3DS XL. The AC adapter is still required for cradle charging, just like it was on the older cradles. Nintendo makes magical things, but not in the literal sense.
