Oh wow, I thought Nintendo did own them. Well its a good thing, because Nintendo has lots of IPs and not enough people to use them.
 
Only other companies I know that work outside of Nintendo's own development are Hal Laboratories, Platinum Games and Retro Studio. Other than, they pretty much do everything in house.
