sourceAmongst the news coming out of today's Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo of Europe has confirmed that over 300 staff will lose their jobs by the end of the month.
The 320 lay-offs, confirmed via statement to Kotaku earlier today, are inclusive of the 130 job cuts reported in June of this year.
The additional 190 losses are believed to be based within Nintendo of Europe’s Localisation Development (ELD) department and have been attributed to “a set of measures to better enable the European business to adapt to the rapidly changing business environment.”
Nintendo states that it felt it necessary to release a number of agency workers who had been employed in translation and testing activities, looking to “increase flexibility and cost-efficiency in the long-term."
The work will subsequently be outsourced on an as-needed basis.
out sourcing work is a terrible move.
