Nintendo really embarrassed themselves this year

I'm not actually talking about the E3 in general, although that was bad.

What I mean is when they announced a "big" third party announcment. It only turned out to be a Skylanders Amiibo.

And the reason I say they should be ashamed is because they announce Amiibos for the franchise that they themselves are trying to follow behind (since Skylanders has been doing the toys to life thing since last gen).

I really don't see how they can present that with a straight face.

I don't think they really brought much to the table this year.  They already have their Nintendo Directs in which case they communicate directly to their fans and target audience, so I think E3 is not as big a priority for them as it is for other developers.  That being said, they didn't have much to bring, and I think next year might be bigger, perhaps with a new 3d Mario game.

I think they could have done a lot more during their E3 presentation.
They're trying to make a new console but they said they'll talk about it during 2016. I feel like they could've said something about it. They did not say anything about the new Pokemon game (mystery dungeon) and the trailer of the game was released right after the E3 presentation.
If they had included that trailer in their presentation, I feel it could have been a less of a disappointment.
It's only my personal opinion but, I don't think a Nintendo show can EVER be complete without something related to Pokemon.

Well to be fair, skylanders is a huge 3rd party company. They print their own money.

I thought the presentation was fine. Nothing amazing, but in hindsight I am satisfied after considering the Nintendo Directs we get throughout the year. I think the fact that they teased the Skylanders collaboration was probably a bit deceitful, but it is huge considring we always considered them amiibo and Skylanders to be in direct competition. It really is brilliant because they get an edge on othe rplatforms that also have Skylanders with the Amiibo exclusive.

Yeah... Nintendo's E3 appearance was lackluster in comparison to more recent one, like when they revealed the Wii U, but I really think they redeemed themselves with the Direct. The company seems so silly...!

I was also annoyed with the lack of presentation. They really didn't have much to offer, and it really was embarrassing compared to the other companies. Granted, Nintendo has been communicating with fans a lot more than the others, but still. It's just sad to see such a lacking performance in general from an awesome company. As for the new console, do we really need another one at this point? Focus on more awesome games and content rather than pumping out another console.

I actually didn't really have a problem, but then again, I'm not a huge news buff. I don't even get hyped that much, I'll make comments and discuss, but man unless the game is actually out my reaction is usually this: "If I can't buy it yet, I don't give a f***."

And since I've been playing my 3DS a hell of a lot recently, I would say Nintendo is doing a fine job the way they are.

They didn't embarrass themselves. It's more like they had a lot of bad luck lately. It's not every year that their president dies. I hope to see a bright future for Nintendo.

just a heads up this was made before Iwata's passing. And for the topic subject, Nintendo embarrassed themselves at E3. The main issue would be the metriod game.
