Hacking group Crimson Collective made the bold claim that it had hacked Nintendo last week, providing screenshots of internal files as proof. Despite that proof, Nintendo has now issued a statement in response to the claims, assuring users there is nothing to worry about.
In a statement issued to Sankei, Nintendo has confirmed that while there may have been a minor hack of some description, it wasn't one that's going to affect any personal information the company holds on its users and customers. Nor is it something that will result in internal information about upcoming projects being leaked, as was the case for Game Freak again this past week.
"We have not confirmed any leak of personal information, and there has been no leak of development or business information," Nintendo's statement reads. It added that some external servers that display the Nintendo website were "defaced", but that's about it.
