The next update, Ver. 1.2.2, is expected to be released on October 18 and will restore a smoother online experience. The second update, Ver.1.2.3, is set to be released on October 20, though Nintendo has stated that the date is not set in stone. The company also mentioned that players might have to wait to play the game online after both updates are downloaded.
The update patch is not the only thing players have to look forward to. Nintendo also detailed its plan to heavily compensate players for all the trouble the bugged update caused. One of the Nintendo Switch Sports rewards includes receiving double the amount of in-game points for playing online, starting from October 18 to November 3. Also, to make up for lost time, Nintendo will allow players a chance to get the weekly items that they might have missed during the downtime.
