Nintendo Nintendo to acquire visual content company Dynamo Pictures

Nintendo has entered into an agreement to acquire Dynamo Pictures, a Tokyo-based company that plans and produces visual content, the company announced. The acquisition is expected to close on October 3.

According to Nintendo, the acquisition of Dynamo Pictures will allow it to strengthen the planning and production structure of visual content in the Nintendo group.

Upon closing, Nintendo will change the company name Dynamo Pictures to Nintendo Pictures to focus on development of visual content utilizing Nintendo intellectual property.

I think somewhere you can read it was Miyamoto's dream to make movies, but we'll see what he thinks of the Mario movie based on Nintendo's casting.

I said this a while back on another forum if Nintendo didn't make games they'd be great at making movies. Games with great cinematics would be Kid Icarus Uprising, Metroid Other M, Pikmin, Mother 3, and obviously Zelda. I'd be hyped for any of them.

Maybe, but it's always better to own your own company, specially with how much they protect their IPs.

Plus I'm glad they are doing this, they got a lot great stuff that would make excellent shows.

You guys are right about their franchises being great movies. Do you remember like 10 years ago when Nintendo had those 3DS exclusive Pikmin shorts? Also they had really really good Kid Icarus shorts. It would be great for those to be their own shows.

They should have their own shows, GoT like Zelda, star wars like Metriod, Mario might be a bit hard but Nintendo has lots of IPs that could be netting them millions.
