PlayStation brand products have been leading in Japan of late, but Nintendo was back at top this past week. Media Create's sales charts covering May 4 through May 10, including the latter half of the Golden Week period of holidays, a period where Nintendo typically performs well, had DS and Wii at the tops of their respective categories.
DS lead the way in software with Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky selling an additional 44,012 units. With no major new releases over the week, the top ten was pretty much all old, and dominated by DS and Wii product.
Here's the full top 10:

* 2. Dragon Ball Kai (Namco Bandai, DS): 41,085
* 3. Made in Ore (Nintendo, DS): 40,714
* 4. Mario & Luigi RPG 3!!! (Nintendo, DS): 25,852

The top 50 saw the return of some long lost classics. New Super Mario Bros. reappeared at 18. Mario Kart DS reappeared at 30.
DS also lead in the hardware race, with DSi selling 55,382 units this week, well beyond PSP's 43,009 units. Wii also managed to break a losing streak against the PS3.
The full hardware chart is as follows:
* DSi: 55,382

* Wii: 24,397
* PS3: 18,483

Japan is still getting back into gear following the holiday period, so this week was also pretty much devoid of releases. Expect low numbers for next week's charts, with the week after seeing a major rebound.
