Other M failed? From the people I've heard, it was a great game...

Way too many cut-scenes for the story. they should keep it more subtle like the others were.
Sold less than a million. Was aiming to beat Super Metroid and Prime series. That's why they say it failed.

True, like that one E3 where they announced almost nothing other than Animal Crossing City Folk. I think Nintendo is getting out of their downtime. They had a better E3 conference then Sony and Microsoft (especially Microsoft) and the 3DS is coming out with a great line up!
And with all the Hype, It can't go wrong.

Just got to wait for the 3DS to come out. If it works, Nintendo will rock the gaming world next year, and possibly the year after.
A few reasons both on Nintendo's fault and the Fan's Faults:
Nintendo:
Trailers should've showed more gameplay rather than the beautiful cutscenes. (whether you like them or not the cutscenes were beautifully made)
Should've removed/edited the scene with Ridely finally appearing so fans don't get pissy about her freaking out.
Made the Game longer. The game could be rented and completed very fast which means less game sales.
Made better excuses for not using Items. XD
Fans:
Shouldn't have expected a Prime game and should've had lower expectations
Should've stopped getting so pissed at Samus's backstory being explained since the gameplay was pretty good.
Not exxagerated that the cutscenes were bad. Only a few were long and those are in the beginning and end of the game. Ontop of that they're entertaining and well made.
I think Team Ninja should get another chance to make a Metroid game and fix their mistakes. I had low expectations to begin with so I actually liked this game.
