Despite announcing the Nintendo 3DS would be released in 2011 on national television, Nintendo of America would not confirm company president Reggie Fils-Aime's comments he made on NBC's The Late Show with Jimmy Fallon last Friday.
"Nintendo 3DS is scheduled to launch by the end of Nintendo's current fiscal year, which runs through March 31, 2011," Charlie Scibetta, senior director of Corporate Communications told IGN when asked for clarification on his comments.
As a guest on Jimmy Fallon's show, Reggie stated the 3DS would be out next year.

this can only mean that Nintendo is still putting a lot of work into it.
