I feel removing guest viewing permission may help with reducing the number of human spammers from posting spam on a forum since they can't use search engines to find popular posts on forums without joining a forum, and manually searching for posts to spam on.

This is the point. You can get to see who is spamming a forum and who is not doing so from that angle.
Why they lurk about in the background without joining fully is something that I can't understand.

I heard some people have problems joining forums and social networks. Filling out an online membership form to enter a username, password, and e-mail maybe too hard for some users.
They should get off the internet then.

Reading a book on basic computer tasks like making an e-mail account and sending e-mails could help some people learn how to join forums.

It's sad that we can't say the same for so many other people out there who's dumped forums for social media.

It is sad that people don't give forums a chance, and rather spend more of their online time on social media sites where less popular members posts get less attention, and are harder to find compared to celebrities posts which get more attention.
As long as there are the likes of us, forums will never die.
