A Country With No Late Night Online Gaming Starting March 3, those hoping to play online games between 10pm and 8am in Vietnam will need to find a workaround. The country's Ministry of Information and Communication has asked internet service providers to block access to online games.

"Provincial departments of information and communication will inspect on-line games activities nationwide and deal with organizations that violate regulations by canceling their services," said the ministry's Deputy Minister Le Nam Thang (via Info.VN).

The measure seems to target Vietnam's youth who spend their nights in game parlors, but online game operators say that this measure will make gaming more difficult for adults who want to game as well as making maintenance harder.

The Vietnamese government will revise this decree sometime this year and make improvements. Not sure how one can improve an internet curfew, but good luck with that!

good luck enforcing that.

How do they really plan to enforce that? Seems really dumb, if you want my opinion..

I don't like this law since late night online gaming is a personal choice which does not harm others directly. Plus, it is also hard to enforce.

Haha, that sucks for them.

I don't understand why the government would waste their time on stuff like that, though.
Seems stupid to me.

That is outrageous... I got a laugh out of it at first, but then got thinking. There are so many countries out there where freedom is not present. This may be a terrible example, but look at China and how they are blocking many Google searches and Facebook.

Sigh, thank god the government which rules my country doesn't give a thought to gaming....

What's with late night gaming anyway? How do you want a guy who works the whole day to relax at night if you take away his only source of entertainment? .....Maybe the gamers should stage a protest or something ....

I would migrate if I was in their shoes...lol...Just kidding...

Wow that sucks for them, around that time is pretty much the only time I am even able to play video games, otherwise I don't have the opportunity to sit down and play..

I'd HATE to be there, I play on the CPU at 9AM, 12PM, 3PM, 6PM, and 9PM. And sometimes in between xD Doesn't event me that much, but still, I'd like to have a choice. :)

This is actually an interesting article. The thing I don't get is that don't people have to right to decide what to do with their leisure time?

I doubt they will be able to enforce that on every single gamer. Plus this might be costly for them and for gaming businesses. There will always be some people gaming.
