Could be bad news for sony.

According to the video it is Sony's who is making it harder for people to record video with those external game recorder boxes because the HDMI ports are locked, and don't allow recording through HDMI, and Sony wants to protect their copyrighted game video.

I think the internal game recorder limits PS4 gamer to recording a few minutes at a time to prevent gamers from breaking the law by posting hours of gameplay which may break the fair use law which let people post a few seconds to minutes of videos without risking being sued for pirating copyrighted video clips.

It is not YouTube's fault since YouTube is forced to take down copyrighted video, or they risk geting sued, or shutdown like Megavideo and Megaupload by the government if they don't take down copyrighted videos quickly.

Well, even if you can't export directly to youtube, Sony has confirmed that users can capture video right from HDMI (like users on the 360 can currently). So there most assuredly will be PS4 footage on youtube. (And a lot of relieved LPers, game reviewers and anyone looking to share gameplay videos using existing equipment.)

All they've likely done is removed the HDCP (aka the DRM) that encodes the video signal leaving the PS4. Since that's the only reason why footage couldn't be captured on PS3 (they had HDCP on it).

It's not like the method or standards have changed... (Video goes out from the console and into the capture box where it's processed and stored on your computer drive while being sent directly to your TV screen.)
