Valve -- best known for developing the critically acclaimed Half-Life series -- revealed via a press release that it will not be showing any games at E3 2011. According to Doug Lombardi, Valve's VP of Marketing, media outlets needn't make any E3 appointments because "[Valve is] not showing any titles at this year's show. So no appointment is needed." Well then.

It should be noted that Valve's message refers specifically to media demos, so technically the publisher could make an announcement at one of the big press conferences, or reveal a trailer.

So they're not even gonna display anything about upcoming Valve games or projects? Wow, that is going to be a big loss for Half-Life and Portal fans.

I don't care about DOTA! i want Half Life! And why does he have to lose 30 pounds?
It's a running joke with the community about Gabe's weight.

Honestly, they don't need to. They'll probably keep it secret until a huge press conference.

Wow, but won't showing the demos and live footage or sneak peeks attract gamers so that they line up with their wallets to preorder the game?

Well, that's that! Perhaps, they'll make they're own big announcement when everyone else have announced they're big new. *wishful thinking* :P

Man this can't be the end of the Half-Life and Counter-Strike, I grew up playing valve games on my PC. I agree with what Beingwell said earlier, you never know they could surprise us all with a new game, when we least expect it. I would really hate to see their success end like this.

A shame really, I was looking forward to Valve showcasing Dota 2 and announcing Half Life: Episode 3 at this year's E3.
