No Wii-Mote Lightsaber Coming

Looks like there will not be a Wii-mote lightsaber peripheral.

There may be a lightsaber game, but according to an unsourced article on wiinintendo.net (via kotaku, via max console via IGN, etc.) "Nintendo won’t let anyone, Lucasarts included, make any type of ‘bat-like’ peripherals for the Wiimote."

I'm betting it's because of safety reasons, anyone can use it for solely any kind of purpose other than gaming.

Probably. I was just thinking about the times I've been hit with the Wii Tennis Racket.

it's called being careful and have common sense people. a Wii light saber would make any star wars game great.
