In a short message shared via the official Nvidia GeForce Twitter account, Nvidia announced that the Special Broadcast event will air on January 4 at 8:00 AM PT. The message continues, saying that the event will include some "exciting news" targeted toward the "world of gaming." A webpage set up for the broadcast explains that Nvidia will be sharing its "latest breakthroughs in accelerated computing." Topics of focus will include design, simulation, gaming, and autonomous vehicles.

I reckon by the time Rtx 5080 is out, the chip shortage situation is no more.

Nothing on RTX 5080. waiting for PCIe 5 GPU. Alder Lake and upcoming Raptor Lake support PCIe 5, it will be a waste not pairing either of them with a PCIe 5 GPU.
Time to wait and see...
