It can run Crysis 3 as well.
I read on a blog the Shield Console will have more exclusive games for it which will come out soon. I think Nvidia pick Doom 3 because Doom 3 is a timeless classic like Quake, Wolfenstein, Counter Strike and Unreal tournament among PC First Person Shooter gamers.
It can also play Google Android games from Google Play, and be used for emulators of consoles like PSX, N64, and SNES.
