Nvidia's big April software update for Shield is highlighted by the introduction of remote game streaming. Until now, the Android-powered handheld was capable of playing graphically intensive games that were being processed by and streamed out of your home PC, but it required that both devices be on the same network.

Nvidia Shield's Game streaming over the web seems pretty good. I like that a paid game subscription like PSN+ Playstation Now or Xbox Live Gold is not needed to stream games over the web with a PC to the Shield.

This is still going? I thought this quietly died out.

They also added streaming support for laptop GTX GPUs so it can stream to the Shield also.

Not that it means much to me since I still play majority of my games on PS 3/4/Vita. And the Shield is a bit too expensive with not really enough worth for me.

I think it still has a small, but dedicated gamer fan base since I still read a few comments from gamers enjoying owning the Shield to use to stream PC games to the Shield, and using to play Android games like Dead Trigger 2 with controller support. I read online that the Shield is now $199.99 for April which is a pretty good deal since most good tablets for gaming with a Tegra 4 or similar processor, 2GB RAM, 16+GB space, and dualband wifi usually cost $200 and more. The Nvidia Shield also does not has bloatware like Samsung tablets which has unwanted software like Touchwiz, and bundled apps which some users don't want.
