Well, this isn't really a glitch, but I couldn't think of any better wording. Basically, occasionally my 3DS will do this thing were it semi-freezes. Sometimes when this happens everything completely freezes, and other times I still have the ability to do a limited amount of things. When it does this, I can't access the home menu, and pressing the power button has no affect. The first time this happened, I simply let the power died, rebooted and it worked fine. However, since then I've found that if you hold the power button for about 5 seconds, the screen will finally go black, but the system will still be on. Then after another five seconds, the 3DS will turn off. This usually only happens when I use netflix, though it has happened with some other software as well.
Has anyone had a similar problem? Have you found a solution? Please let me know.
This has happened to me before when I use the browser, so I think it has something to do with internet connections and/or data. For example, when my router is on but my DS can't connect for whatever reason, it takes a long time for the home menu to load, which brings me to think that it's still trying to connect. There is also an odd glitch where if I try to move topics on my forum using my ds, it freezes and I have to hold the power button to restart it. I have no idea why it does that, but it could be because of the general derpage 3ds browsers go through when touching drop down menus.
Since you said it happens to you with mostly Netflix, I'd go on with my Internet and Data theory. Even on my mom's Ipad, it derps around and becomes unresponsive with netflix if there's a bad connection or if you skip around the shows too much. My suggestion would be to be patient and be aware of the animations on the 3ds screen. For example, on the internet browser, the colon mark in the time display will blink every second. If your DS is truly frozen, it won't do a thing. If it's blinking, that just means either your internet is slow or the page is too big. Try pressing the L button to get out of there quickly and save time.
i never had this...... really i dont know.... i had this problem with my blackberry though.... my stupid scrolling thing wont work, and with that i cant use most of the functions to the fullest...... and sometimes it wont respond at all, sometimes it will only allow selecting..... anyone have a solution to this.... ive tried taking out the memory card, and the battery, and blowing on the battery and the empty slot like i do when my 3ds slot is dusty from not having a game in there for some time.... any solutions??????????? (and yes ik this has nothing to do with 3ds but still i have a problem on my blackberry u have on u 3ds so it not off topic totoally)
I've had a similar problem earlier, the whole 3DS just froze when I was using SwapNote. I had to try and turn the power off to do anything, although even that took a while.
Ok, It seems that other people are having the same problem. I was just curious if it was my 3DS or not. It doesn't really bother me much, as it only really happens with internet applications, and not during games.
A few times I had that problem, I freaked out and then held the button down for a while. It works like every other computer device. If it freezes (Rarely)
hold the power button down.
