Okay to ban books?

Banning books is a rather stupid practice. Are some books offense, absolutely but banning just makes people want to read them more. It's simple science, you ban it they all go and read it.

We all need to read the greats we hear about in history class. It's never okay to ban a book if the is a genuine interest in at least 1 person wanting to read it. Even more so for the whole medium. If they were to ban books then it would be against the freedom of religion. So might as well give them a good fight if you were to.

I don't believe in censorship nor in banning. History is history & it cannot be changed. Just because one group doesn't like a certain book does not mean it should be banned nor should it be pushed.

I am even against banning Hitler's Mein Kampf.
Indirect reference to what I was talking about. Then there's Uncle Tom's Cabin and Ulysses 1922, 1984, Tropic of Cancer... I'm just pulling the others out of searches, they could be tamer than said first book.
