One minor thing people need to realise about Wuhu Mountain Loop...

The glitch doesn't mean the game is rushed. Really, whether a glitch like this is in has absolutely nothing to do with if the game is rushed, because:

1. Every Mario Kart game has this many. Especially Mario Kart 64, Super Circuit and Wii.

2. Finding glitches in testing is way harder than people think. Sure, some random person found this glitch, likely by accident, but... the game testers probably either missed it (because face it, the easiest way to do the glitch is to go quite a way off the beaten track, to jump backwards to what seems like an earlier point), and glitches often creep in whenever other ones are fixed.

Basically, they might well have fixed a checkpoint issue found elsewhere (where you might get put from the final section to the second one, from the other end), but then in the process have introduced this bug.

Just a minor announcement to keep in mind.

Oh nin, do you have to make another wuhu glitch topic?

I kinda stopped caring about the glitch, to be honest. MK7 is a great game, regardless.

Exactly. Too many people are bitching about the glitch and the lack of Waluigi, Dry Bones, etc., and no single player VS. Can we just give Nintendo some credit? Now, I've never started a mega-popular video game company, but I'd imagine it's not that easy. If you're not gonna try to make franchises like Nintendo has, then shut up about the game.

Two things Nin loves: Maka Wuhu glitch, Mario Kart 8.

I only bitch about this simply because Nintendo specifically said they are not going to patch this glitch which confuses me a lot.

Heres why I understand their reasoning:
Ghost Data would be affected so those who participated in the glitch have better records than most.

Heres why I don't understand:
Why can't they patch it for online races only? It wouldn't effect Ghost Data and then I don't have to be that one douche who thinks people in 2nd-8th place will do the glitch and I end up being the only one to do it OR be that one idiot who doesn't do the glitch while everyone from 2nd-8th place do the glitch leaving me in dead last. Its an extremely annoying glitch when it involves online play.

patch the glitch and wipe all ghost data from the track. Start new. Thats what id do. It does kill the fun only cause theres always that one a hole who will use it online.

WAITWAIT WAIT WHAT THE FUCK AM I READING
They're NOT going to patch this? What a stupid fucking idea.
What, are they too lazy?C'mon Nintendo, just go patch it!Don't do shit like this!
We want FAIR games. Not people glitching.

I always avoid this stage when playing online, but if somebody spams the hell out of it, I used the glitch, cause let's face it, if I don't use it first he surely will.

Bro. You're pretty late. This was already announced a while back.

"Thanks for your patience in waiting for a response during this busy time of year. We are aware that it is possible to navigate a certain part of the track in Wuhu Island in a way that allows a large part of the course to be bypassed. There are no plans to update the game to remove this shortcut as doing so would create an unfair advantage for the users of the original release of the game. Rest assured your comments have been added to our records for Mario Kart 7.”

They have a good point to say this really...

No, they don't have a good point because they could patch it for online play and leave the glitch in for the time trials

The main point is highlighted in red. Which means people who have the early release of the game WILL be able to perform the glitch while to those who don't own MK7 yet and buys the patched release WON'T BE ABLE TO.

You don't understand. Nintendo should be able to push for an update to the game via SpotPass, fixing the glitch for online mode and leave the glitch for time trials. :l

There isnt a problem with this at all. Its now just a matter of them realizing this and putting in the effort to patch it.

And what about the people without internet or without SpotPass enabled?

For them it wouldnt matter because the main problem with this is that its being used online.

Which BTW, I was on this stage today, and all 7 people I raced with fell off in the water! I was like LMAO why not and jumped in too. It feels now like glitching there is PART of the track now. nobody goes the legit way now, that glitch IS the legit way.

I'm pretty sure it's possible to disable spotpass, but still play online..

Nintendo can send you whatever they want to your system through SpotPass - not through MarioKart 7. They can send you an updated firmware which could possibly patch this issue - just how they sent a firmware update to fix Ridge Racers. Why are you defending this so much? Its like you depend on the glitch just to beat the level.

Nothing is fair to begin with. People who get Mario Kart 7 now will be completely owned by people with much better kart customizations. As the saying goes, If you snooze you lose - the people who wait months in to buy Mario Kart 7 are causing everyone else to have to sit through unfair glitches. This glitch can completely be fixed simply by having Nintendo analyze the ghost times for the track and the way that the racer accomplishes the race and simply delete all records with the obvious exploit. Hell, even Audiosurf deals with these kinds of exploits and hacks.

I dont think Nintendo would analyze all the times, its too much. I know the idea of wiping all data from that track seems impractical, but my view is that the simpler nintendo can view the issue, the more they can be persuaded to deal with it. I see it as a huge loss of the stage cause you wont get the excitement of the whole race, and its kinda cool racing past the castle n stuff. Oh well, seems like the AI are the only fair players online with this stage.

To be honest and realistic, I dont think Nintendo is going to do anything about this. There is a small chance, but I dont want to get my hopes up.

Here's a question though... what about the other tracks with shortcut glitches? The ones on Wuhu Island Loop and Bowser Castle 1 are also really easy to do, so wouldn't fixing Mountain Loop just turn those into the new spammed tracks?
