Eiichiro Oda doesn’t sleep. The dude works hard. He seems to truly love creating One Piece since 80% of his day goes into writing and drawing it.

A couple years back Japanese TV show Baka Furi looked into this and reported that Oda probably makes around 3.1 billion yen which converts to $26 million US a year. This figure was based on calculations that the show did, factoring in royalties, income earned from international licensing and character goods.

Guy makes all the money, but can't spend much of it.

26 million dollars a year is not that much considering the amount of work he puts into the anime. There are American actors who get paid twice as much for a single role that takes them a few months to prepare.

I'll admit I spent a total of 1379.53 on anime, but since I bought them all on sale I only spent 462.25.
