sourceThe one year anniversary of Xbox One is coming up on Saturday and Microsoft is planning to celebrate with their fans.
"It’s been an unbelievable year, but we never would have gotten to this point without our incredible fans," Microsoft's Larry Hryb wrote on Major Nelson. "We want to thank you for being a part of an amazing 12 months by celebrating with you all weekend long."
According to the blog post, the Xbox One community has spent more than 2 billion hours playing games and earned a collective Gamerscore of more than 11 billion in the past year. As a thank you, eligible users will receive a personalized email detailing their own accomplishments and a few rewards including a Year One gamer picture, special Xbox One backgrounds, and free rentals of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn and Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods.
Fans will also be selected at random to win additional prizes, such as special-edition consoles, games, and posters. A full list of prizes and more details about this weekend's celebration can be found on the Major Nelson blog.
Sales of the Xbox One have reportedly tripled since the console took a price cut in early November, and finished up the console's first year on a high note.
MS can only thank themselves, for making life saving changes at the last minute.
