I think anyone by now knows and most likely used Gamestop at one point or another. But what about the other video game stores? Big or small or just a mom and pop store. What are some other non Gamestop stores you've used?

I found a list of a few stores here in this article and comments. I also have a store in my area that is called Video Games Etc. that isn't bad.

Game Over Video Games is our local shop, and it's great. They specialize in older stuff, anything older than 7th Gen (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii) you can find games and consoles for. It's where I got my Retron 2 and my current small grouping of SNES/NES games.

I use a place called GAME here in the UK, don't think they exist or are well known in the US. Strange really, because we used to have Gamestop as our main retailer and they kind of just disappeared from the UK mainly but are the most popular in the US.

I've heard of GAME, though I thought they were another version of gamestop?

Someone already mentioned GAME here... practically speaking, they're the only video game retailer in most towns and cities in the UK. Don't think I've ever seen an independent one in the last ten years or so, I don't think they exist in most of the country. Which is a shame, since GAME's quality is... variant, and their practices pretty similar to GameStop.

There is a store called "Play n Trade," they sell new games and consoles but they also sell very gaming consoles and games. Like Game boy advance & its games, the first playstation & its games, etc.
