During EA's press conference at E3 2011, the developers at Insomniac -- the folks behind the well-known Resistance franchise and more -- revealed its next project. Ted Price took the stage to reveal Overstrike, an action game that combines Insomniac's love of "exotic weaponry" with its traditional dose of humor. Overstrike will feature four different elite agents on a team tasked with breaching a heavily-guarded enemy stronghold.
In a CG trailer played after the announcement, we saw the various agents introduced and the variety of weapons and gadgets that they'll employ. Chief among them were a portable shield that could deflect bullets, a crossbow that fired electrified bolts, a cloaking device, and a gun that fired expanding bubbles that suffocate the target.
No gameplay was shown during the presentation, and no release date was announced.
