PS5 Perfect for PlayStation 5 TV

According to a press release, the change from ‘ready’ to ‘perfect’ lies in two new features exclusive to the Bravia XR televisions – Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode.

Auto HDR Tone Mapping means that while performing the initial setup on a PS5, the console will detect the TV and automatically configure the best HDR settings.

Auto Genre Picture Mode, meanwhile, can detect whether the user is playing a game or watching media, and will switch the picture mode accordingly. When starting a game, the TV will automatically switch to Game Mode.

Both features will be added to the PS5 in a system update by the end of 2021.

The new televisions will also include HDMI 2.1 support, allowing for frame rates up to 120fps at 4K resolution. Customers who purchase one in the UK before November 30, 2021 will receive £100 of PlayStation Store credit.

The Bravia televisions also include an ultra-low latency Game Mode and allow users to turn on the television and console at the same time using the PS5’s DualSense controller.

This does look like a nice TV for gaming. I wonder how reliable this TV will be, and will it last 10 or more years of constant use for 4 hours a day?

Really want to return to a Sony TV at some point. I have a Samsung at the moment and it's okay but not as good as Sony. The responsiveness of the menus is awful as well which is quite annoying.
