One common criticism I kept hearing about SMT4 was that it wasn't a "real" RPG because there were hardly any options or choices for the player to take until the climax, and "they obviously really wanted to make an anime instead". Well, they made an anime...and, I personally preferred the video game a lot more. It's great that I can introduce non-gamers to the story, but I preferred having a truly neutral protagonist, and the personalities and relationships that made the heart of the game were sort of hit-and-miss in the anime version.
However bad the Golden might or might not be... it's still bound to be more exciting than Trinity Soul!
