Pikmin 3

During its press conference today, Nintendo officially confirmed Pikmin 3 for Wii U.

Pikmin can now pick up objects and interact with the environment, such as tearing down structures. New Rock Pikmin were shown.

100 Pikmin can be on screen at once. The Wii U GamePad willl sow a map at all times. The GamePad will also let you check the status of your Pikmin to coordinate strategy.

Games can be recorded so you can watch playthroughs later. There will be four new leaders, and no Captain Olimar (the reason for Olimar's absence is a secret for now).

Pikmin is OK at best.

Pikmin has its moments. I grabbed a copy a few years ago and couldn't put it down, but after a while the gameplay got a bit stale and dull. I'd be happy if this one has some neat multiplayer components of sorts.

Pikmin does what it does well. Spinoffs like Overlord don't match the fun that Pikmin provide. Hopefully with the Wii U controller things won't be too complicated or convoluted.

I didn't even know Overlord was a bit of a ripoff (or spinoff?)
Either way, Pikmin needs to make a serious comeback along with a few others Nintendo decided to abandon years ago.

Never really played Pikmin. I might get into though on the Wii U. Not too sure if I even should.
