Pixels per inch (PPI) is a measurement of the pixel density of an electronic image device.

Here is a usefyl calculator to calculate the PPI, dot pitch, aspect ratio and display size based on the resolution and diagonal size.

The PPI determines the quality of your screen. If there are more pixels per inch you see the image in higher quality.
So it is quite useful if this is something that is important to you...
