PlayStation PlayStation 5 System Sold Online Only

As per the PS Blog today:

No units will be available in-store for purchase on launch day (November 12 or November 19, depending on your region) – please don’t plan on camping out or lining up at your local retailer on launch day in hopes of finding a PS5 console for purchase. Be safe, stay home, and place your order online.

Gamers who have pre-ordered for pick-up at their local retailer should still be able to do so at their designated appointment time, under the retailer’s safety protocols. Please confirm the details with your local retailer.

No word when they will ever hit the store shelves. This will be a major headache for retail employees all season long and if you are picking up a pre-order, please bring a buddy with you to prevent any theft.

I feel with the rising number of Coronavirus cases, a lot of stores maybe forced to sell their game consoles only on the internet. Many countries now have laws which make it illegal for many people to be in a store at the same time, so having the PS5 consoles on sale may cause a lot of people to gather at retail stores.

Makes sense. Click and collect is still available over here in the UK so I'm sure gamers will be able to still collect their orders in store after ordering it online
