Been desperate to get into 3D gaming? At the Sony press conference at E3 2011, company announced a brand new 24 inch PlayStation branded 3D display. What makes this display unique, though, is that it allows two separate players wearing the 3D glasses to see full-screen displays of their gameplay, as opposed to split-screen.

Each pair of glasses normally retails for $69.99 USD, but the display can be purchased in a bundle glasses, as well as a copy of Resistance 3 for $499 USD.

I must admit, that bundle is one hell of a price.

It only seems to be costly. It's 3D, after all. It's worth the headache and the bucks if you really love the game! :evil lol:

Sony always makes expensive bundles like these and throws in some cheaper accessories to make the customer feel like they are getting alot in the deal. But in reality I think customers are getting ripped off in the bundles. Bundles are only good for people if they actually need the items that are included in the bundles.

Wow looks good! Getting a 3D display for both Playstation and my movies sounds really good. In addition its a Sony product so I guess there's a certain degree of quality and this looks like a good deal! (:

That is pretty awesome. I have never seen 3d glasses being used to split the game into "two channels" so that two people can play at full screen. That is so cool. I have always hated split screens, as for one, if your playing a FPS, you can't go stealth. Everything is "shared".

I must admit, this is the first time I have ever been taken in by the prospect of 3D, with the sheer number of 3D supported games coming out, some of which might actually have proper 3D instead of stupid gimmicks, this looks like a good investment for the future, coupled with Resistance 3 and multi channel split-screen makes the £305 charge a very very good deal...unless this offer is only available in America...

Whoever is calling this expensive... Just wow. I'd like to see your faces when you see normal priced 3D TV's with no extras.

That's a pretty awesome feature. No more split screens. Only 24 inches though is kind of small. I'd consider it if it was at least 36".

The thing I love must about the TV is that it will make it so you don't see split-screen or that's what I read at least. I don't know how it will work but it sounds awesome.

I honestly think the $499 price tag is rather high for a 24" display. You can get a 24" monitor for around $160, just because it has split screen and 3D doesn't make it worth another $340 in my book. If I am going to spend $499 on a 24" display why not spend another $299 and get a 42" 3D HDTV?

The best thing about this is that each player in Co-op see's their own screen!
The price is pretty good too!

You can't though, that's the point. The cheapest I found a 3D TV for, other than this, was for $750.

Here you go 42" 3D HDTV for $649.99 http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=A4757681&dgc=SS&cid=27530&lid=627063 do you still think $499 is a good deal for a 24" 3D HD display?

Sony really outdid themselves this time. A must have TV for hardcore gamers. Can't wait to see it personally I just hope that the pic they have shown for that full screen view for two is correct that you will see the whole screen unlike a split screen.
