While the rest of the world is waiting for Sony to officially announce the Xperia Play, a PlayStation-branded phone that will run certain games and applications, Chinese blog IT168 has already given an extensive preview of the device.
The report, translated by BGR.com, confirms a number of hardware specifications the phone will use, including: a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a Qualcomm Adreno 205 graphics processor, a 4-inch 854 x 480-pixel display, an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, a 1,500 mAh battery, microSDHC support and 512 MB each of RAM and ROM.
It was believed the phone would be revealed at this week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. During Sony's press conference, the company only revealed the Xperia Arc and Android-powered phone.
The Xperia Play could be revealed at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this coming February as previous reports suggested.
