Read from VGC:

“PlayStation Studios historically has executed wonderfully in the delivery of a strong portfolio of narrative rich, graphically beautiful single-player games, but it’s certainly the case that we have restricted ourselves to a rather narrow portion of the gaming market,” Ryan said.

“By expanding to PC and mobile, and it must be said… also to live services, we have the opportunity to move from a situation of being present in a very narrow segment of the overall gaming software market, to being present pretty much everywhere.”

He continued: “I think if we do this right, if we execute with intelligence and we execute with excellence, the opportunities for significant growth in the number of people who play our games, the number of people who enjoy our games, and the number of people who spend money on our games, is exponentially a large one.

“I would say for example, if we are successful in making a portion of the 12 live service games that we have in development in PlayStation Studios… if only a portion of those enjoy critical and commercial success, then the impact of that over time will be completely transformational to our business structure.”

PlayStation recently acquired Nixxes Software, which is best known for its work on the PC versions of Square Enix properties including Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Hitman and Thief, to help it bring its games to the platform.

In mobile, SIE has long been preparing for a significant push into the market. Last October, SIE appointed former Apple Arcade content boss Nicola Sebastiani to lead the company’s mobile operations, following job ads that stated it was opening a new business unit to adapt its “most popular franchises” for mobile.

I feel Sony releasing more mobile and PC games is good news for people who can't afford a PS5, but own a decent PC or smartphone which is fast enough to play Sony games.

PC and live services make a lot of sense. Not sure how some of their games are going to translate when ported onto mobile devices unless he means the crappy ones.

I feel like a console gives more players a reason to buy games in the first place if they are going to spend with the expectation of getting games. While a lot of players play PC and mobile games, not everyone has the memory to handle them, unless they are shorter games.

But how well will they work though? Lol.
Indeed. And a gaming PC with the same power as ps5 is around $1100 while you can get a PS5 for $500

I think in 2025 many $500 computers maybe as fast or faster as the PS5, so they may work well. Sony can also lower the video quality of PC games to make them playable on more affordable computers, and mobile devices.

yeah as time goes by PC parts prices also will go down though the console prices will also go down. and yeah a faster way would be for Sony to have an option with lower quality for the games. mainly the graphics part.

I think Sony will make it possible for Android smartphone/tablet users with a MicroSD memory card reader on their device to have the option to install and move bigger Sony games to a bigger storage size MicroSD card like a 256GB MicroSD card, so users are less likely to run out of space when installing bigger Sony games on a large storage size MicroSD card.
