Pokemon Black & White is gearing up to take the crown as current generation of Pokemon. In Japan, the baton will pass on September 18. This is the release date for Black & White, Nintendo and Pokemon Company announced on this week's Pokemon Sunday broadcast.
Typical for the Pokemon series, this is a Saturday release. Most game releases in Japan take place on Thursday, with Saturday usually limited for the largest titles. It's also, oddly enough, the first public day of the Tokyo Game Show, a show that typically does not see participation from Nintendo.
If you happen to be in Japan over the coming months, you may get an early chance at Black & White. Pokemon Co. will be holding a demo tour for the game between August and mid September. Details will be shared some time next month.
