It seems these guys are making an MMORPG based on Pokemon, which will allow you to play through all of Kanto with friends online (and alongside about a few hundred other people doing the same thing).

It's apparently nowhere near finished yet, and they talk about adding in the other 4 regions including Unova in future, so it looks like it could be a decent game if finished.

Only one issue... how long do you think it'll last before Nintendo sues them/sends a cease and desist order? I'm not sure. On the one hand, they have been harsh on Nintendo MMORPGs in the past... but they haven't bothered to go after the likes of hacks or Mushroom Kingdom Fusion yet, so I'm curious what line they draw in regards to what's an acceptable fan project is.
 
if you battle someone whenever you walk past them, then train a team of level 100s and troll by standing outside the starting house.

No can't do, they wont have a pokemon by then. NOW stand in front of Oak's lab, that would be hell. XD

I went and downloaded the game(You need to have the rom to be able to play this) and the thing is still under heavy construction, but if everything gets fixed in the end this can be a sold time killer for me. They are planning to expand till Unova and beyond in the future.
 
*facepalm* If it isn't clear, I'm one of the few who thinks this is going to turn out to be just another broken effort to make a failed attempt at an MMO in the Pokemon trend.
 
Custom Trainer colour pallet you say? I'm interested. I do have Pokémon World Online, but never play it much. It's VERY similar.

Also, Pokémon follows you around like in HG/SS. Yes please.
 
Well I was playing this last night(before I felt asleep on the keyboard) and I was having a blast. Playing the original game with others is so much fun. Here hoping that this gets bigger and better overtime. BTW I HAVE A FREAKING BLUE TRAINER!! How awesome is that?
