Pokemon masters across North America will be joining together for a weekend of intense battles during this year's Pokemon Spring Regional Championships, taking place in eight cities across the U.S. and Canada the weekend of April 14-15. The goal? To become a Spring Regional Champion and earn an invitation to the Pokemon U.S. and Canadian National Championships later this year.
The event will feature competitions for the Pokemon Trading Card Game on Saturday April 14 and for the video game on Sunday, April 15. Video game players who did not attend or earn a Travel Award at the Pokemon Autumn Regionals should note that the Spring Regionals will be their last chance to earn a trip to the U.S. or Canadian National Championships.
Players who advance to the Pokemon Nationals will be only one step away from earning one of those coveted invitations to the 2012 Pokemon World Championships - which will be held in Waikoloa, Hawaii this August. Gamers who wish to compete in the Pokemon Spring Regional Championships will need to bring their own Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo DS system and a copy of Pokemon Black or Pokemon White. They must also have a Pokemon Trainer Club account, which you sign up for free of charge at the official Pokemon website.
Below is a complete list of locations and registration times for the 2012 Pokemon Spring Regional Championships. So mark your calendars, PokeManiacs, and prepare to prove why you and your monsters are the very best!
