I feel so old with all these new types of Pokemon coming out. The main threat way back when was Mewtwo. Now we have the God Pokemon with all these "beasts" coming out. Pokemon end times? *grabs my tin hat* THE END IS NIGH!

There's been a general pattern towards power creep for a while now. Since about generation 3 in fact.

Still, I wouldn't say the end is nigh/already here. You're unlikely to see most of these super powerful Pokemon and monsters outside of a few tournaments and story events anyway, and it's entirely your choice if you wish to use them against in game opponents.
