The recent riots in London over the weekend are being linked video games.

An unnamed police constable was quoted in the London Evening Standard today saying, "Go home, get a takeaway and watch anything that happens on TV. These are bad people who did this. Kids out of control. When I was young it was all Pacman and board games. Now they're playing Grand Theft Auto and want to live it for themselves."

Riots began in Tottenham, north London, on Saturday night after a local man, reportedly armed with a replica gun, was shot and killed by police on Thursday.

So far, police have arrested over 160 people and charged 16 of them with crimes for burglary and possession of weapons.

why can't they blame bad parents?
 
I blame "mob mentality". I read a lot of the people who are rioting are using Twitter to communicate with each other and encourage more people to riot.
 
Indeed, I think Twitter is used because people can use fake usernames, and it is the most convenient and easy way to share information with a lot of followers on the internet. Facebook was also used to organize the riot.

The "mob mentality" of social networks might of caused the riots to be so big since so many people are on Twitter, and Facebook, so messages can keep on getting retweeted, and re-posted on Facebook status updates, pages, and groups.
 
They are trying to ban Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 there. I swear to you, some people have brain capacities of less than a squirrel. I
