Obama/Biden or McCain/Palin?

Who do you think should be our next in command? Which one has the better VP choice? Even if you aren't old enough to vote, you should pay attention to what's going on, so tell me what you think.

ah yes Politics. a time where the dark sides and sneak sides of human beings come out and fool half the planet and torture us to death to damn tv ads saying vote for me and I approve this message. a dark time of year for the US if you ask me. me I'm a Obama/Biden person.

Why? What do you like about them? What do you dislike about Obama/Biden?
i dont have dislikes...i just like what Palin brings to the table...she is more like an every, common person....no like a traditional governor

im neither Republican or Democrat

im Independent

I'm worried about Palin because she has too much going on at home. Either us or her family are going to suffer. She has a young special needs child and her 17 yo daughter is going to be having a child. I just think that she has way too many personal issues to be running for office. If something were to happen to McCain, she would be our commander-in-chief and that scares the hell out of me.

Also, her and McCain are very (extremely) pro-life and both of them would like to reverse Roe v. Wade. Ohh, and I totally don't agree with her abstinence only stance on sexual education.

On that note...I'm most likely going to vote for Obama/Biden. I love Sen. Biden as a person and I have a lot of confidence of what he can do in office...though I'll miss having him here in Delaware. I think Obama has a lot of great views and I love that he really wants to get our troops out of Iraq. We need a withdrawal date and Iraq wants one too.

I'm registered as non-affiliated because independent is actually a political party now.

you DO bring up great points but as of now im not fretting because i cant vote this time....ill have to wait till the 2012 elections in order for me to vote

First off, making topics about politics, religion, and things like those is like walking into a minefield.

I'm independant as I would rather vote for the best person regardless of who they are. And I have a question: What happens to Iraq once we leave? I hate war and want to get out, but what'll happen if we do get out? I'm afraid there'll be civil war and chaos. We're keeping order now, but what about when we leave?

Also, I've heard that Palin wants to drill for oil. I don't like it, but we need to. She seems too conservative for my taste but we need oil to keep gas prices down.

I'm not sure I'd want to vote if I could. Nowadays it seems to be picking the best liar.

But then again I've already lost faith in humanity.

I am also Independent, i hate politics with a passion. Plus with the war still going and and being in the military, its hard to get everyone out, cause when we are gone who will keep the peace or at least try, there police is still not the best and if we do leave they can just come to us once again. But still i know how people feel when they want there son/daughter to leave iraq and not be killed but it is the son/daughter's decisn to go into the army. (unless you in like Israel and have to go into the military when your 18 for 2-4 years). But hey what does a war veteran know about war...

The whole thing about getting out of Iraq is so that they can start to take care of things themselves. I'm not saying we should do a drastic withdrawal, just start bringing home our troops bit by bit. Iraq wants us to make a plan for withdrawing anyway. It's going to take time, but it's a step we need to start working towards.

As far as not voting...if you are able to vote and you choose not to, then to me, you can't really complain about who won the election. If we don't speak up for ourselves and let our voices be heard, we can't complain that no one listened.

And about starting a "hot" topic, that's the point to debate. As long as we all agree not to flame each other and maintain a civil conversation, it can be an extremely educational conversation.

I understand that it is a person's choice to enter the military and by doing so he will take what ever it will give him. But we went over to iraq for a reason, we completed that reason, we helped them as best as we could. now they want us out and the US citizens want them out. so I say we need to get out!

I think almost everyone wants us out. I'm just worried about what happens afterwards. Religious intolerance is common. Very common. In India, China, Isreal, the Middle East, etc... Especially in the middle east. There was civil war there before we came, I'm afraid it'll return after we leave. Even if we leave bit by bit, its the peace keepers that are leaving, not the hatred.
